ATI brings together project filings, licensing registers, labor data and other public sources in one place. Every figure shows its source and its date. When ATI uses an estimate, it says so.
| Projects and permits | New capital projects, building permits and state incentive awards: the work heading for a market before it breaks ground. |
| Energy and infrastructure pipelines | Power-plant filings, grid interconnection queues and federal transport funding, which put work into a market years ahead. |
| Contractor and company records | Who is licensed, for what, and where, across 49 states and DC, resolved into the companies behind the licenses. |
| Federal labor statistics | Employment, wages and payroll behind every market. |
| Registered apprenticeship | Who is coming into the trades, and where. |
| Census and enforcement records | Migration, housing and workforce composition, plus federal wage and environmental enforcement. |
| Business contacts | For some companies, a named contact (name, job title, business email and professional profile) licensed from a commercial people-data provider, shown only where its match to the company passes ATI's check. The one source here that is not public record; removal on request. |
Every state that licenses a trade at state level runs a public register of active license holders. That register, read in full and dated, is the source. Where a register exists, we count it rather than model or estimate it.
Registers ATI cannot currently re-collect, shown as dated snapshots rather than nightly figures: Georgia, Rhode Island, Utah. South Carolina is not published: its register cannot be collected or resold. Per-source freshness is published alongside each state's figures. Where a register is temporarily unavailable, the last good figure serves and is dated accordingly. Population figures are U.S. Census 2023 vintage estimates.
States whose registers we cannot yet read completely are held out of published figures rather than shown low. See the methodology for how a record is counted, or browse every market we publish.
