Avio’s $500M Virginia Factory: Who I’d Call Avio’s $500M factory broke ground in Hurt, Virginia. Meet HITT, the design team and a regional industrial contractor surfaced through ATI.

A $500 million rocket motor factory broke ground in Hurt, Virginia, on September 29. Construction is expected to finish in late 2028.
If I sold industrial supplies in Virginia, I’d start with the companies building it, then look for regional contractors whose work buys what I sell.
Avio USA is developing its first U.S. manufacturing facility at Southern Virginia Multimodal Park in Pittsylvania County. The City of Danville’s groundbreaking announcement puts the investment at $500 million. The plant will produce solid rocket motors for defense and commercial space applications.
I followed the announcement to HITT Contracting , the general contractor identified in Avio’s project release . HITT said it would deliver the facility alongside local trade partners. Production is anticipated to begin in early 2029.
HITT would be my first project call, to identify the contractors handling the work relevant to my products.

Purchasing had already started before the ceremony. In its September 10 investor presentation, page 10 , Avio reported that orders for long-lead process equipment were underway and plant design was progressing.

I also found STG Design’s project update . It names STG for master planning and design, Salas O’Brien for engineering, and HITT for construction.
These are company-level routes. The project announcements do not identify who buys each product category or advertise a specific open bid package.
To find regional contractor accounts, I used American Trades Index , the platform I built to help salespeople find who to sell to next and why to call them now.
My search of electrical business records in the Lynchburg metro surfaced PCM Industrial Services in Altavista . I checked the company’s published services and project history to understand its work.
PCM lists piping systems, equipment installation, welding and industrial maintenance . Its project portfolio includes pump upgrades, valve replacements, process piping and a wastewater treatment facility where it performed civil, mechanical and electrical work.
For a rep selling pipe, valves or fittings, PCM would go on my account list. It is a regional prospect based on its industrial work, not a confirmed Avio subcontractor. I’d contact it about whether it is pursuing work at the new factory.
PCM publishes 800-445-4726 and a general contact form . Its address in ATI is 107 Ogden Road, Altavista. That is a route to the company, not a verified purchasing contact.
One groundbreaking led me to a project team and a regional contractor to call.
One of those calls could lead to a customer who buys from me for years.
